Should I repair or replace my roof?

There are many factors that go into determining a repair or new roof. Items including the age of your roof, past severe storm damage and the condition of the shingles or tiles, all determine cost. How much does a new roof cost?

Roof costs vary depending on the size and scope of the project. The range for a new roof can range from $9,000 to $14,000 for an average residential home. Higher-end materials and a larger home will increase this range.

What is a roofing underlayment?

Roofing underlayment is typically a membrane that goes under the roof covering to help prevent water intrusion. Ideally, roofing underlayment keeps moisture, cold weather and stifling summer air out serving as the first layer of protection for the longevity of your roof. There are many materials that can be used for underlayment such as rubberized asphalt to organic fiberglass to synthetics.

How long will it take to replace my roof?

There are numerous variables that impact the length of a re-roof project. Depending upon how much wood needs to be replaced (if any) the average roof install usually takes between 2-4 days.

Can I cover over my existing roof?

Depending on the age, condition and type of roof, another roof may be installed over the current roof. For installations of this type, it is best for us to review the current roof first.

Are you a licensed general contractor?

Is Red Stag insured?

Yes, Red Stag and its employees are fully insured.

Do you do structural repairs or maintenance?

Absolutely. We can answer any structural repair question a customer may have.

Will I have to pull permits?

No. Permitting is the sole responsibility of Red Stag and our partners.

Will the work need to be inspected by any third party?

Inspections are dependent on the project specifications and needs. Not every project will require an inspection from local officials. If inspections are required, Red Stag will be on-site to make sure all work meets the requirements or codes at the time of the inspection.

RENOVATION QUESTIONS

Can I stay in my house during the renovation?

We make every effort possible to keep you comfortable during your renovation. However, the ultimate decision is up to you since some projects may require the turning off or limited use of heat and water. We can help you weigh out the positives and negatives of each during organization step in our process.

How will the rest of my house be protected?

Depending on the project, we take all necessary precautions to protect landscaping, flooring, yards, walls and other valuable objects in and around your structure. This may include the draping or protective covering of your floors, furniture and walls, and the creation of proper ventilation for the interior of the space.

Do I need to check with my HOA or historic group before renovating?

Yes. If you are a member of an HOA or your home meets preservation status, you will need to get approval for any renovation or rehabilitation plans.

How is material debris and waste handled?

Red Stag is responsible for the containment and disposal of all waste and debris during a project. For most projects, a dumpster is delivered to the site prior to work. Once full, it is then emptied and replaced for further use.

Do you provide interior design services?

We like to think we have an eye for detail, but we are far from interior designers and decorators. However, we do have resources that aid in finding the right look and feel for your space. Drop us a line.

Do I need to get plans approved?

Depending on the scope and size of the project, approval of plans may be required by local and/or state codes. Often times, we can help facilitate this process and make sure your plans meet any building or legal requirements.

Who will be doing the final walk-through?

We will be on-site for every walk-through during the project, including the final one.

Is your bid an estimate or a fixed price?

Depending upon the project, we either provide estimates or fixed price.

Do you have a list of prefered vendors? If so, who are they?

We hold each of our partners and vendors to the highest of standards. Many of our vendors have been with us since day one.

Do you provide itemized bids?

Yes. For each project that Red Stag bid on, we provide a detailed scope of work outlining pricing, materials and labor costs.
